Neuchatel and three lakes region - Geography
The soils are generally rich in limestone. In the region’s centre and east, they are light and stony; in some places, however, heavier soils in marl can be found. At the foot of the vineyards, alluvium soils are present, deeper and heavier than the others.
Generally chalky.
East and central areas - light, stony soils with heavier marl in some
parts.
Lower areas - deeper and heavier alluvium soils.
