Müller-Thurgau
Synonymes: Riesling-Sylvaner (only in Switzerland)
Crossbreed created in Germany by the professor Müller-Thurgau and refined by the Federal Station of Researches in Arboriculture and Viticulture at Wädenswil (Zurich), the Riesling-Sylvaner is the principal grape variety in German Switzerland. In this region, which has a temperate climate, it produces elegant and aromatic wines. In warmer areas, these qualities can be masked by some heaviness and a lack of acidity. |
