Merlot

Coming from the Bordeaux region, the Merlot has found a second home in Ticino where it produces extraordinary wines. Given that it ripens later than the other main grape varieties, it is hardly present in other Swiss areas. Its wines are distinguished, richly tannic and intensively coloured. The Merlot Bianco, a white wine issued from this same red grape variety, is very promising and becomes increasingly popular with producers and consumers alike.
